London Fashion Week: Designers

Just a quick post about the rest of the fashion shows that I got to attend. If I leave them to one post each I will be posting about London fashion Week for another week!

And the award for best catwalk hair style goes to...............................Belle Sauvage.
When the models first came down the catwalk the first thing that I noticed was the hair. What first came to mind was T-Rex! Why you ask? I have NO idea!
The prints were fabulous, the colours were Amazing and it was nice to see that the body con is still around.

Bora Aksu
Photo from www.londonfashionweek.co.uk
Bora Aksu was fabulous. The colours were feminine and fun mixed with some black to sex it up. This was my fave look.

Aminaka Wilmont

Aminaka Wilmont was absolutely packed out! Luckily for me I got to stand next to the photographers so I got a pretty good look but unluckily for me my camera died! BOO HOO!

My fave look. You can't beat a maxi dress. There is something about them that I absolutely love. I loved the colour palette of blues, black, whites and greys. Thoroughly enjoyed the show, such a shame I didn't get any pics so that I could have shared more with you.

Iris Van Herpen

My first thought at this show was aliens meets the fifth element, however these two pics do know show what I'm talking about. The show was very futuristic. Lots of blacks and metallics and as these pics tell, sometimes bug like.
That's the end of my fashion week posts until Sep xxxxxxxxxxx

London Fashion Week: J. Maskrey Autumn/Winter

J. Maskrey was the last show for me at London Fashion Week and I wasn't let down. What was quite possibly one of my fave shows was full of glitter, sparkles and body jewelry bliss!

Described as futuristic biker chicks, girls dripped in crystals and diamonds, supe luxe criminal with a sexy attitude - sounds exciting right?

Sadly my camera was no use as it decided to die the first day of fashion day. So I will be using Milly's pics! Thank goodness she was there!

The male models wore next to nothing except for their torsos and arms which were covered in sparkly crosses, stars, hearts, butterflies and much much more! I think the words 'WOW' left my mouth when this model came down the catwalk. I had no idea before the show that J Maskrey was known for fabulous body jewelry.

The girls had amazing sparkly nails which you just couldn't keep your eyes off - well I couldn't.
One model came down the catwalk covered in leopard print body jewelry, sadly no photo! I will try and find a link for you guys so that you can see what I mean.

I do not even know how to describe this dress as it is far to late for me to be typing! So just enjoy the picture. This ensemble was the final item of the show. The model stood there sparkling and sparkling under the lights - Brilliant!

Thanks again for the pics Milly

London Fashion Week: Paul Costelloe Autumn/Winter

Paul Costelloe has been the opening show at London Fashion Week now for 5 seasons. I was very excited to be attending as it was my first fashion ever at LFW. For some reason I was put in front row and it was amazing! I spent a long time wondering how the models were going to brush out there hair and how it got like that in the first place - i’m guessing ALOT of backcombing was involved.

What first surprised me when the models came out was how wearable the collection looked. I’m not sure if I would get away with wearing Coats which go out at the waist to make a volumous puff ball, but i’m sure some of you fashionistas will work it.
Nearly all the female models came out wearing black tights with what can only be described as mid leg PVC/leather leg warmers - and I actually think I might give that a try! I’ll let you know if it works on the legs of a 5ft 3 girl. LOL.

This look reminded me of an updated Sandy from Grease with a sheer ruffled blouse.

This look was my fave. I will definitely be sporting something similar soonish.

Secret bargain hunting tip:

Shop around - I read lots of magazines each week and I am always in shops just looking at clothes and shoes. When I see something that I like I shop around i'm like a walking talking compare the market.com LOL!
Also look in your parents attic. I just recently found about ten pairs of Levis jeans and shorts that my parents had when they cost around 6 pence (So i'm told!)

London Fashion Week: Day Two

I had a lovely lay in today as my first show wasn't until 2.45. It was a very exciting day for celeb spotting - Nicolas Roberts from Girls Aloud, Molly from The Saturdays to name a few. I felt a bit scared for Nicola Roberts as she got out her car to go into a show. All of a sudden there were loads of paparazzi trying to get a shot of her. I can only describe it as a flock of seagulls going in for the ONE chip! scary stuff - i'm surprised no one gets hurt. My first show was Iris Van Herpen where I first spotted this man - who ended up on the front row of every show. I wonder who he was? Anyone know?
Photobucket
After the show I headed over to Somerset House where I finally got to meet Milly who then introduced me to Molly, Jacqueline and Lucy They were such lovely girls and I hope that I get to meet them again soon and also LFW in Sep! We all headed off to Belle Sauvage together and got snapped for Emerging Fervour on the way. After the show Milly and I had a sneaky McDonalds - Sorry Lucy! LOL! and the headed over to J Maskrey show which was prob my fave show of the day! Milly got some brilliant pics but due to my stupid camera dying on me I sadly didn't get any! Grrrrr!

London Fashion Week: Day One

Yes I know i'm a day late but I was too tired to blog yesterday. The day started at 5am (I am not a morning person, I'm more of a DO NOT talk to me before midday kinda person) I set off to Somerset house feeling like it was my first day of school. LOL! I excitedly queued up for my press pass and received an LFW canvas bag with a guide and a sharpie (I love stationary)
My first show was Paul Costelloe. I'm not sure how or why but I ended up on the front row. EEEEK! I pretended it wasn't a big deal - because I do this everyday of course! Ha Ha. I loved the show, but I will blog about that later. I had some time to kill before I had to got to another show so I went to Oxford Street for some retail therapy. Where I saw Olivia Palamero - I was far to shy to stop her for a picture. She is absolutely stunning! The Aminaka Wilmont show took me over to Victoria House. I didn't see much as I was standing for this one. I had a lady infront of me who was taller than me (I'm 5ft 2/3) who put both her arms in the air to film with one and take pics with the other. Everytime I tried to take a pic she moved and all I got was the back of her head or her arm! ANNOYING! After that it was back to Somerset House for free champagne and Bora Aksu. More tomorrow as i'm off to bed as the caffeine is wearing off.

Tomorrow will be my first time at London Fashion Week. I'm excited to say the least, but very nervous. I'm such a wimp.

What to wear?
Where to go? - I get lost alot
What on earth am I doing? - LOL

Wearing heels all day in London is something I hate. Sore feet = Moody me, which is why I have become hideously attached to my Ugg boots - I am somewhat ashamed to admit! Flats in bag? Check!

Looking forward to the shows i'll be going to.
Bernard Chandran
Iris Van Herpen
J Maskrey
Aminaka Wilomont
Paul Costello
To name a few.

Many of these are thanks to fellow blogger MILLY (who I will be meeting)

Can't wait to meet other bloggers - though I do walk around like a blind person - so if you see/recognise me come and say hello!

Anyways hoping that it will be awesome, that the rain will hold off and that I get to see your lovely faces.

Pancake Fun

Just thought I would do a quick post for you guys to show you my attempt at making pancakes. Those who know me will know I am an absolute menace in the kitchen and should not be allowed to cook unsupervised. This is what happened last night! This was the out come - 10 burnt pancakes.

Lesson learned - Do not make pancakes in a wok oh and do not use olive oil (woops)! But I give myself A+ for effort and because there heart shaped. LOL

New Look store opening

• I went to the Opening of a New Look store on Friday in Oxford Street, London.
Photobucket

• I had such a great time and got lots and lots of new clothes and I now know that I like raspberry muffins.
• New Look is quickly becoming my fave store. S/S 2010 is bang on at New Look with floaty florals cut out back dresses, leather jackets - Pink Leather one is my fave and for some reason I didn’t get it! Big Mistake – I want it so bad!
pink lots and lots of pink! LOL!
Photobucket
• I also never realised how tall models were being 5ft 2 n all! Standing next to one whilst in flats was embarrassing.
• I really wanted these boots in black but I could not find a size 3 anywhere (The trouble of having small feet)
Photobucket
• Oh and check this swimsuit out. Its AMAZING! I will however have to make a few stops at the gym until this looks good on – I just couldn’t leave the store without it in my bag.
Photobucket
• A quick look at my new clothes
